THE MAKING OF A PET SCREEN
I choose a photo that I feel best represents the qualities and soul of the pet I will be painting. This particular photo showed Fred doing his favorite activity, happy, free, bringing his ball back to be thrown again probably for the 50th time!!!!
After assembling the panels I start the preliminary "sketch". I work in oil paint. Originally I thought the sky line and trees in the distance would work but later felt it didn't allow for Fred's energy to shine through.
During this process I send updates to the owner and start to work on dark areas and grassy areas.
Finding out what flowers would
be in the field I add those, some butterflies and make sure the eyes show
Fred's soul......he's off to his owner.
Each Pet Screen is made with much love, the back is painted with a solid color and stenciled with gold stars and moons along the outside edge. |
